Enriquez wins interim title in Mexico

Kenia Enríquez W10 Ibeth Zamora... Kenia Enríquez won the WBC interim flyweight championship by defeating Ibeth ‘Roca’ Zamora by unanimous decision this Sunday in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. On a card promoted by TM Boxing, led by Eric Ibarra, with the support of Imagen TV and Caliente.mx, Enriquez intelligently used her jab and took advantage of her long reach, marking up the face of the fighter from San Cristobal Huichochitlán. Zamora ended the fight with her left eye swollen. Enriquez, originally from Tijuana, dominated the fight and at the end of the ten rounds, the judges turned in scores of 100-90 and 99- 91 (twice). Enriquez, a former WBO flyweight title holder who later campaigned at 108 before moving back to flyweight, improves her record to 27-1. Zamora, a former two-division champion, is now 33-8.
