Elena Saveleva to face Oksana Romanova on Dec. 12th

"Scoring the knockout is always my goal; it is my plan!"

Greg Leon: How has everything been going for your upcoming fight on December 12? 

Elena Saveleva: "My preparation has been excellent.  Our training camp is broken down into stages. Now I am in the final stage finishing up with some quality sparring and look forward to putting it all together in my fight."

GL: What do you know about your opponent, Oksana Romanova [9-19-1]? 

ES: "I see that she is very experienced and will come prepared for our match in December."

GL: Other than victory, do you have a prediction for the fight?

ES: "I am focused only on victory, scoring the knockout is always my goal and that’s what I plan."

GL: What are your goals for 2018? 

ES: "I am planning to fight for the World title in 2018.  I want to fight the best available fighters in my division and bring excitement to my weight class and woman’s boxing."

GL: Considering your impressive amateur pedigree, do you want to be moved quickly? 

ES: "Definitely!  I fought the best fighters in the world and was a world champion in amateur boxing.  I am staying busy, getting exposure and look forward to fighting the biggest possible fights in the near future." 

GL: How do you feel about the current state of women's boxing?

ES: "I am very happy to see so much progress in recent times! Woman’s boxing is becoming exciting and popular all over the World. The quality of boxers is getting better and better. I look forward to bringing a World title back home to Russia." 

GL: When do you plan on making your American debut?

ES: "I leave this decision to my promoter and manager but I want to fight in the US sometime next year.  I have great experience of fighting in the US.  In 2011 I boxed in Los Angeles and Oxnard at an amateur boxing tournament. I had 3 fights and won all of them, I was also declared best boxer.  It was great to see that the judges, boxing officials were fair with me.  I have very positive memories of my US experience. I believe my in ring experience in the US will continue to be of good fortune."

GL: Is fighting in the States important to you? 

ES: "Yes! That is my goal!"

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

ES: "I look forward to fighting in the US in the near future to bring excitement to boxing fans in the US and around the world."
