Edwin Valero apologizes to WBA

130-lb titlist takes back remarks, blames press

Mr. Gilberto Mendoza, President WBA and members of the WBA:

I Edwin Valero, would like to ask for my sincere apologies to all of you for my comments made by me directly or indirectly to the press. I’m aware that I owe my boxing career as a professional boxer to Mr. Gilberto Mendoza and all of the WBA members. Before the happenings I regret the comments made upon my erroneous beliefs or expressions that were misinterpreted by the press. My only intention was to express my desire to be able to fight the winner of the Marquez-Pacquiao in the near future. Once again my sincere apologies to all of you.

Sincerely, Edwin Valero
