Juan Diaz shuns fight with Ebo, so Team Elder opts for release from Main Events!

It appears that the camp of WBA lightweight champion Juan Diaz has no interest in rescheduling their voluntary defense against Ebo Elder. Diaz was forced to pull out of his April 23 fight with Elder when he suffered a gash in sparring one week before the fight. Diaz's next opponent and return date have not yet been announced. Elder, who granted Main Events three options in the event that he upset Diaz, has decided to test the open market since the Jersey based promotional outfit is unable to guarantee him a title shot in his next fight.
