ESPN2 report: Wills wins controversially

Damian Wills W8 Cisse Salif... The reviews were less than favorable for heavyweight Damian Wills (21-0-1, 15 KOs) remained undefeated in Temecula, California on Friday with a disputed but unanimous eight-round decision at the Pechanga Resort and Casino over Cisse Salif on ESPN2's Friday Night Fights. Fighting in his home state, Willis was credited with a victory by scores of 78-73 and 77-74 (twice) but the San Diego Union-Tribune scored the bout for Salif, 77-74. The paper quoted Salif, 18-7-2, as calling it a hometown decision. source: San Diego Union Tribune

Enrique Ornelas TKO1 Raul Muñoz... On the same show, Enrique Ornelas (25-2, 15 KOs) found himself a winner after just 2:31 of action against late sub Raul Muñoz (18-9-1, 14 KOs). Ornelas, a former super middleweight now campaigning at 160 pounds, dropped Munoz with a left hook to the body. Muñoz got up but quickly suffered a second knockdown. He beat the count again, but when the punishment continued, the referee intervened.  Munoz was a late sub for Sam Soliman who bakced out of the fight due to injury. source: San Diego Union Tribune
