ESPN2 Report: short night for Anthony Peterson

Anthony Peterson KO2 Jose Soto... Anthony Peterson continued his rise up the list of the sport's prospects by stopping Jose Soto in two rounds in Memphis on Friday. Peterson, 19-0 with 14 KOs, dropped the Dominican Soto with a body shot in the first, and then finished him off a round later with a left hook to the temple. Peterson holds a regional lightweight title but fought this bout one pound above the lightweight limit. Soto drops to 18-4-2 and lost for the second straight time after a string of wins against Dominican unknowns  Soto did beat Chucky T at the Blue Horizon in 1997. source: memphis commercial appeal / ESPN2

Shamone Alvarez KO7 Marteze Logan... Welterweight Shamone Alvarez knocked out trialhorse Marteze Logan with a left hand to the jaw that sent the durable Logan face first to the canvas. The seventh-round knockdown on the ESPN2 telecast opener in Memphis was the 25th loss of Logan's career against 22 wins and two draws, but the loss marks just the second time in 49 fights that Logan was knocked out. Julio Aquino was the other man to do it, and he, like Alvarez, is a lefthander. Alvarez is now 15-0 with 10 KOs. source: ESPN2 Friday Night Fights
