Press Release: Junior middleweight Jose “El Macho” Medina, 13-6,, will box Clarence “Sonny Bono” Taylor, 10-9-2, in the eight-round semifinal this Wednesday evening, Aug. 2, 2006 at the New Alhambra in South Philadelphia. ESPN2 will televise the card, headlined by a featherweight bout featuring Rogers Mtagwa against Alvin Brown. Medina, 30, of North Philadelphia, is coming off the finest performance of his career, an eight-round split decision win over Marcos Primera on June 3. Light heavyweights Chuckie Cavallo and Michael Eatmon meet in a six-round contest, which will also be part of the telecast.
