Duva expecting big 2006 for Minto

Promoter Dino Duva says a big fight for his heavyweight prospect, Brian "The Beast" Minto (23-1, 14 KOs), is just around the corner. “We’re looking at some real possibilities for a premium TV fight against a contender or even a world title shot for Brian. We hope to have something for him in the first half of 06.” Duva feels Minto, who scored three impressive victories in three consecutive months to close out the year (TKO 7 Vinny Maddalone, KO 2 Forrest Neal and TKO 3 Troy Weida), has established himself as a legitimate young heavyweight contender. “Brian has looked better every time he’s fought this year; he has proven to be a contender who needs to be seriously watched in the heavyweight division.” The emergence of Minto gives Duva Boxing a quartet of notable heavyweights in their stable, which also includes Samuel “The Nigerian Nightmare” Peter, former world title challenger Kirk “Bubba” Johnson and undefeated young Michael Marrone.
