Duddy takes a minute to discuss his :61 second KO!

Fresh off his 1:01 K.O. victory over Joseph Brady this past weekend at the Dana Barros Sports Complex in Mansfield, MA, “Irish” John Duddy 12-0(11) took the time out to speak with Boxingtalk and us to give us the run down on his performance. “The first right hand I threw and landed, I hurt him. It actually put him down, he got up and I hit him with a couple of good body shots and he didn’t recover from them that well.” stated Duddy. “It was a fantastic experience” he cheerfully recalled of his first appearance in Massachusetts. Read on, as he gives us some insight on when and where he’ll be back in action again.

RC: How are you feeling John?,
JD: I am feeling great Ray; I enjoyed the experience over the weekend. It was a great show with a great crowd that enjoyed the knockout

RC: Give us a rundown of your 1:01 K.O. victory over Joseph Brady this past weekend at the Dana Barros Sports Complex in Mansfield, MA?
JD: Well I came out and right away he started circling from me. He was a southpaw and he threw a lackadaisical left hand at me and I couldn’t get over it right away, but I saw that he was open after he threw the right hand. When I threw my jab and pulled it back, I followed it with a right hand. The first right hand I threw and landed, I hurt him. It actually put him down, he got up and I hit him with a couple of good body shots and he didn’t recover from them that well.

RC: How did the Boston people receive you up there?
JD: They were fantastic, I was actually surprised at how many came up from New York as well. I couldn’t believe how many people had green T-shirts with my name and picture on it.  After the fight when I looked around and saw all of those people I was in shock, so it was nice to be fighting up there in those of the woods. It was a fantastic experience.

RC: So what’s next? How soon can we expect to see you back in action?
JD: Hopefully we will be shooting for the 4th of November in Manhattan. That is what I have been told, so Harry (Keitt) is giving me a few days and I will be back in the gym on Thursday again.

RC: Has there been any mention as to who you will be facing?
JD: I am not sure. But I would say he would have more fights than I have, someone with more experience so we can keep this ball rolling.

RC: Is there anything else you would like to say in closing?
JD: Thanks to Boxingtalk, I really appreciate all of your support. I want to thank all of the boxing fans in Massachusetts and I hope that they enjoyed the fights. I want to thank Irish ropes and my coach Harry Keitt as well, for all of the good work that they are doing with me. I want to thank the McLoughlin brothers for bringing me here in the first place. I also want to mention to everyone to keep an eye out for James Moore 3-0(2) who also fought that night. He was in there with a very experienced guy and he put on a great performance.
