Dubois gets e-mailed the IBF title; will defend vs. Joshua on Sept. 21st

A British super fight is set to take place on Saturday, September 21st. Newly minted IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois (21-2) will defend his title against former two-time champion Anthony Joshua (28-3) at Wembley Stadium in London. On Tuesday, June 25th, IBF president Daryl Peoples received notification that world health weight champion Oleksandr Usyk (who conquered all four major title belts) was relinquishing the IBF version. [It should be noted Usyk defeated Dubois last year and holds two wins over Joshua].  Dubois, who held the IBF interim heavyweight title as a result of this month's win over Filip Hrgovic, was notified on June 26th that he is recognized as the IBF heavyweight champion, effective immediately. A press conference was immediately held to announce that Dubois’ first defense will be against Joshua.

The September 21st co-feature is another all-British affair as Anthony Cacace will battlle former two-time featherweight champion Josh Warrington for Cacace's IBF junior lightweight title. Also on the show, Josh Kelly will battle former 154-pound title holder Liam Smith.
