Drews-Dawson off

Boxingtalk has just been informed that the WBC light heavyweight title eliminator scheduled for December 2, 2006  fight between “Bad” Chad Dawson and Stipe Drews has been reportedly called off for reasons unknown at the moment.  Dawson's mamanger is extermely unhappy, saying that Drews “doesn’t want to fight us. We feel like they been playing games with us from the beginning, first they changed the date. We could have fought two or three times, we have lost a lot of money and feel that we wasted a lot of time.” said Mike Criscio.  “We hope that the WBC stands up for us and orders Chad [become] the mandatory for [Tomasz] Adamek for the first of the year.” Team Dawson, who in the past has repeatedly said that they would love to fight Antonio Tarver, has not changed its position one bit, “We understand that Tarver has a date in December, all you have to do is pick up the phone and call Gary Shaw to make this fight happen.”  The eliminator was scheduled to take place in Berlin on a Universum show.
