Press Release: Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions has announced the main event of His June 16, 2006 show at Cicero Stadium in Illinois will feature 1996 US Olympian David Diaz against Efren Hinojosa in a twelve round lightweight bout. Diaz, 30-1-1, is coming off a decision win over Silverio Ortiz while Hinojosa, 29-2-1, is undefeated in his last five fights. His eleven-year career includes wins over contenders Ernesto Zavala (twice), Ivan Robinson, Lamar Murphy and Steve Quinonez. Said promoter Dominic Pesoli, “Both guys have very similar records and are highly skilled warriors. David showed a lot of heart winning his fight with Silverio Ortiz. I’ve seen quite a few of Hinojosa’s fights on TV and he’s a very tough kid who’s always in great fights. We’ve got 56 scheduled rounds of boxing on this card.
