Dover Downs Hotel & Casino welcomes ESPN2’s “Wednesday Night Fights” to the Rollins Center® for a June 14th main event, as Oscar Diaz squares off against Chris Smith in a 10-round for both the NABF and NABA Welterweight titles. Diaz (24-1, 12 KO’s) comes into the match fresh off a victory over Russell Jordan in February.  Nicknamed “El Matador”, this young Texan is poised to show the national audience his tremendous skills and passion for boxing.

Smith (20-2-1, 13 KO’s) enters the bout after an impressive victory over Tomas Barrientes last October.  Smith has earned his nickname, “The Mechanic”, by systematically taking apart his opponents. 

“Knowing that ESPN2 will be airing the fight live will create an electric buzz throughout the arena,” says Ed Sutor, the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Dover Downs Hotel & Casino.  “Boxing has brought in some real lively boxing matches as of late and I am sure the June 14th matches won’t disappoint.”
