According to the WBC, a purse bid is coming due for its light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson to make his mandatory defense against Adrian Diaconu, a Romanian who fights out of Canada. The purse bid will be held on Friday, August 10, in Mexico City. Both boxers have records of 24-0, with Diaconu coming off a three-round dismantling of Rico Hoye in an eliminator.
