Denmark’s Kim Poulsen (28-5, 7 KOs) will face perennial middleweight contender Martin Murray (37-5-1, 17 KOs) in Liverpool, England on July 12th in a ten-round contest. Murray is coming off a majority decision loss to Hassan N'Dam. Poulsen, a former lightweight, was last seen taking super middleweight Jayde Mitchell the full ten rounds in a losing effor in December. Murray is plotting a brutal welcome to Liverpool for him, saying “I believe I’m on a different level to him but for a comeback fight, it’s not going to be any kind of walkover. He’s coming to win. With my skills as a boxer plus my superior physical attributes, I still plan on getting him out of there and look good doing it."
Murray continued, “This is a massive night of boxing in Liverpool. I didn’t dream of coming back on something like this. It’s an absolutely stacked bill with some world-class Scousers on it as well as one of Manchester’s finest in [former lightweight titlist] Terry Flanagan. The Olympia is such a great venue. I’ve fought there before but this card could easily have been filling the Echo Arena. The Scouse fight fans are the best in the world and I can’t wait to put on a good show for them.”
Joining Murray on one of Liverpool’s biggest shows in recent times are Rocky Fielding and Flanagan, Olympic heroine Tasha Jonas, Jazza Dickens vs. Nathaniel May at super bantamweight and many more.
