Demond Nicholson: "I'm knocking Jessie Nicklow out on Friday Night"

Greg Leon: How did everything go in camp? What can we expect to see from you on Friday night in your super middleweight bout versus Jessie Nicklow [27-9-3]? Demond Nicholson: "Camp went great. I went away to California to train for a week with Gervonta Davis. I had an eight week camp and I've got this new meal prep that has been helping me out a lot. As far as what you could expect, you could expect a knock out man. I hate to call it, but you could expect a very good show and a knockout for sure. I believe that my youth is going to help a lot in this fight. Jessie is six years older than me. He's 32, but he's an old 32. He's been in some wars and stopped a few times and I'm a young stallion on the come up. I don't think he's going to be able to take my power in the early rounds and I think I'm going to get him out of there in the sixth or seventh round."

GL: What are you hoping a victory in this fight leads to?

DN: "Right now I'm just ready to get back up on TV so I can officially become a contender. I'm looking to make big fights. I want to fight for a world title, if not a world title then a fight that can set me up for a world title. After one or two more fights I feel liek I'll be in position for a title shot."

GL: Do you feel you've improved as a fighter since the Jesse Hart fight? If yes, how?

DN: "In my eyes I do. Right after the Jesse Hart fight I fought a dude Isaac Rodriguez who was 25-2 and that says it all. He hadn't lost a fight in seven years and not only did I beat him, I stopped him. That really set it off for my career after Jesse. Jesse was a big upset for me. Most fighter who would have been in my situation wouldn't have flourished after something like that. Some guys start to shy away from punches, but if you look at my fights I've gotten better and Jesse made me a lot better. I got a lot of experience and I learned so much from that fight. I'm definitely a better fighter and not just a better fight, but a better man as well."

GL: Is a rematch with Hart something you're gunning for?

DN: "Down the line. Once I get a title and he's got a title then it could happen. Jesse is the kind of fight where if we were to look at it right now we'd have to fight him in Philly and that's something we don't want. We want it on neutral ground, anywhere but Philly, New Jersey or Maryland, but right now it's not even on my agenda, but once I get the title around my waist I will be."

GL: How did you and Thomas Williams Jr link up?

DN: "I've been knowing Thomas since I was six years old. We trained together and he's like my big brother. He told me he was going to start managing and I told him that he could manage me. I've been knowing him my whole life and I look up to him as a big brother."

GL: Do you see yourself fighting for the title this year? Is that the goal?

DN: "Yes. If I don't get it this year, I want to be in line to get one early next year. I think I'll be ready for one this summer, but right now I'm gunning to put myself in a position to fight for one by this time next year at the latest."

GL: Closing thoughts for the fans.

DN: "Expect fireworks! I know this is going to be a great fight, I know Jessie is coming to fight and I will knock him out. Expect a great show."
