Pro boxing returns to Delaware this Saturday, September 17th at The Chase Fieldhouse in Wilmington. An eleven-bout card will be held in the memory of Mike “Mighty Mike” Tiberi, a fine man and former Delaware professional boxer who will long be fondly remembered and missed by family, friends and fans throughout Delaware and the entire tri-state area. Dante “The Red Cornet” Cox, from Germany but fighting out of Glen Burnie, MD and Raekwon Butler of Brooklyn, New York will face off in the lightweight main event. Though Cox (8-2) is the more experienced of the two, Butler (5-2) intends to give as well as he takes in what should be a battle of grit and will. Sharing the top billing are two middleweights, Eslih Owusu from Ghana by way of Massachusetts and Pihladelphia's DeWayne Williams (3-4-1). Owusu (7-1) has the advantage of facing international competition, but he’s facing a Philly fighter in what amounts to Williams’ backyard.
Two female bouts highlight the remaining nine bouts. Montreal's Jessica “Cobra” Camara and Equador's Maria Vega face off at lightweight. Camara (9-3) recently lost a split decision to Kali Reis in a two-belt world title fight. Vega is 9-4 and has not fought since pre-pandemic...
The crowd-pleasing Olivia ‘The Predator’ Gerula (18-19-3) will test Logan Holler (9-1-1) of Columbia, SC in another 6 round battle. Gerula has fought on four continents and fought many of women’s boxing top talents including Kathy Collins, Mia St John and Amanda Serrano. Holler may lack Gerula’s experience, but she possesses youth, speed and punching power...
Lightweight Jalique Holden (1-0) of Wilmington, DE stepping up to fight Charlie Clark (3-12-1) of Dallas...
The card also features Jamar Leach vs Andre Davis...
