De La Hoya sued by former employee

The Blast reports that former multi-division champion Oscar De La Hoya has been sued by radio disc jockey David "Tattoo" Gonzalez. The allegation is that De La Hoya, who employed Gonzalez, forced him into illicit activities, while De La Hoya was under the influence multiple substances. While the claims are just allegations, De La Hoya's prior substance abuse issues have been well documented and admitted. After retiring, De La Hoya former Golden Boy Promotions, where he hired Gonzalez in 2010. Gonzalez's attorney claimed De La Hoya would call Gonzalez at all hours of the night to help him out of crazy and "life threatening" situations. The situation came to a head in April 2018, when according to Gonzalez, he suffered a broken rib and De La Hoya required him to keep working or lose his job. Gonzalez gained notoriety in 2001 when he had the words "I slept with Shaq" (a reference to basketball player Shaquille O'Neal)  tattooed on his forehead in exchange for Lakers' playoff tickets. He later got the tattoo removed.
