David Estrada Coming To Hand Berto First Loss

GL:  BoxingTalk.com here with welterweight contender, David Estrada.  You've got a big fight coming up on Saturday night, against Andre Berto.  Tell us about it. "I'm just excited to be back in the picture.  I'm fighting a big fight to get ranked #2 in the world, after this fight."

GL:  What do you think of Berto as a fighter, and what weaknesses do you see in his style?

DE:  I think he's a good boxer, I dont think he's a good fighter.  There's a difference, I'm a figter, he's a boxer.  He holds his hands high, he hasn't been pushed back yet, which I'm going to do.  We'll see how he reacts to that.  He hasn't been hurt yet, and I'm going to hurt him in this fight.  We're going to go to war, that's what I enjoy doing.  We'll see what happens.

GL:  Don't you think he was hurt against Cosme Rivera in his last fight?

DE:  Not at all, I don't think he was hurt at all.  He got hit with a punch, and he went down, but he got right back up and continued handling his business.  I don't think he was hurt.

GL:  Do you see this fight going the distance?

DE:  It might, it might go the distance.  It depends on how much punishment he can take, if he lasts or not.  I'm ready to go 12 rounds, if I have to.  I could go to war in 12 rounds.

GL:  What are you hoping a win over Berto leads to?

DE:  A rematch with Kermit Cintron, which after I beat Berto is not going to happen as soon as I want it to, because they made this fight for the #2 spot, instead of the #1 spot.  That means it gives Kermit the chance to win another fight, before he fights me.  I'm going to take his belt when I get my rematch.

GL:  How do you grade Andre Berto as a fighter?

DE:  It's not his fault that he's been matched with who he has.  He has good managers, and that's good business.  I'm pretty sure he's the same as me, he'll fight whoever they put in front of him.  We just play two different roles.  He had good management, I never had a manager, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

GL:  Give us some closing thoughts for the fans?

DE:  Don't blink, it's going to be very exciting.  We're going to go to war, and we're going to put on a good show.
