David Diaz moving to lightweight

'96 Olympian in for tough fight in Rising Sun, Indiana

Press Release: Rising Sun, Indiana will host a boxing show on December 10, 2005 at the Grand Victoria Casino and Resort.  Junior welterweight David Diaz, 29-1 with  16 KOs will move down to lightweight to face Ramazan Palyani, 11-0 with 5KOs. Diaz, a 1996 U.S. Olympian is riding a three bout winning streak. Palyani was a bronze medalist in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. He is coming off a gutty decision win over Rafael Ortiz on May 7, 2005 in which Palyani was able to win a unanimous decision despite being able to only use his right hand after his badly hurting his left hand early in the fight. The terrific undercard features yet another Olympian, Dante "The Inferno" Craig, 13-4 with 10 KOs, in a middleweight bout. Also on the show is Aaron Pryor Jr. 1-0 (1KO) of Cincinnati, OH in a scheduled four round middleweight bout.Â
