Damian Knyba TKO3 Andrzej Wawrzyk ... The main event of Prime Time Promotions' show at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey was an all-Polish heavyweight contest. The winner was Damian Knyba who conquered Andrzej Wawrzyk via third-round technical knockout. It was also a crossroads fight, as Wawrzyk is a 37-year old veteran who has fought the likes of Alexander Povetkin and Kubrat Pulev, while Knyba is age 29 but a relative latecomer to the sport. Knyba, who stand's 6'7" and has a very wide wingpsan, is improving rapidly under the tutelage of trainer Shaun George. Against Wawrzyk, Knyba worked behing one of the longest jabs in boxing, and although he is not known as a tremendous puncher, that perception ay be changing. His right hand seemed to hurt Wawrzyk each time it landed. Wawrzyk had no answer whatosever for Knyba's jab. In round three, Knyba landed a hard right to the ear that floored Wawrzyk, putting him halfway through the ropes. Wawrzyk got up and was ready to continue, but it was clear the punch had thrown off his balance. Three more punches from Knyba had Warzyk wobbling, and with a knockout just seconds away, Wawrzyk's his corner stepped in before any further damage could be done. Knyba is now 15-0 while Warzyk falls to 34-5.
