Pakistan's Muhammad Waseem will battle South Africa's Sabelo Cebekhulu in a bantamweight main event at the Intercontinental Hotel in St. Julians, Malta on October 4th. The show will be presented by Blockone and broadcast worldwide by DAZN and FightZone TV. For Waseem (12-2 with 8 KOs), he is hoping that third time is the charm for him after two previous failed world title attempts. In 2018 in Malaysia, he lost a close decision to Cebekhulu´s compatriot Moruti Mthalane for the vacant IBF flyweight title. Almost four years later he came up short again, for the same title, when Sunny Edwards, who had beaten Mthalane, decisioned him in Dubai.
Cebekhulu is 7-0 with 3 KOs after turning pro in 2019.
A heavyweight contest on the show will pit Malta-based German Renke Wittke (3-0 3 KOs) against experienced Colombian Juan Camilo Novoa (32-12-1 with 29 KOs).
In another undercard bout, Romanian teenager Andrei Cristian Florian (5-0, (3 KOs), is set to face another Colombian veteran in Jose Miguel Torres (38-21 with 29 KOs) at light heavyweight. title at stake.
