DAVID LOPEZ FACES SAMUEL MILLER TONIGHT

KELLEY VS. RODELA IN CO-FEATURE ON "SOLO BOXEO"

Press Release: LOS ANGELES, October 10 - Unbeaten for over three years, David "The Destroyer" Lopez will defend his crown for the first time on Friday, October 10th, when he takes on hard-hitting prospect Samuel Miller in the 12 round main event of TeleFutura's "Solo Boxeo" at the Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson, Arizona.

In the co-featured bout, Former World Champion Kevin "Flash" Kelley will continue on his road back to the top when he battles Oxnard's David Rodela in an eight round lightweight contest.

This exciting eight bout card, which is presented by Golden Boy Promotions, will air live on Telefutura's 'Solo Boxeo' beginning at 8pm ET / PT (7:00pm CT).  Tickets, priced at $40, $45, $75 and $120, can be purchased at local Ticketmaster outlets or by calling 520-321-1000, visiting the Desert Diamond Casino Box Office or online at www.desertdiamondcasino.com.

Currently ranked third by the WBC, David "The Destroyer" Lopez (36-12, 25 KO's) is closing on his long-deserved world title shot and with a current 12 fight winning streak under his belt, it looks like the hard-hitting southpaw from Nogales, Sonora, Mexico is hitting his prime at the right time.  Fresh off a fifth round TKO of Billy Lyell in August, Lopez is returning to the Desert Diamond Casino for the 11th time on October 10th to thrill the fans at his home.

Hailing from Colombia, exciting middleweight prospect Samuel Miller (19-2, 16 KOs) is rapidly making a name for himself in the fight game and in the coming months the native of Arboletes hopes to reach the top of the boxing world.  In his most recent bout, Miller scored an exciting fourth round TKO over Alexis Munoz on January 19th and the 29-year-old continues to show improvement with each successive fight as he moves up the ranks.

Widely regarded as one of the best featherweights of the last 25 years, Former WBC Featherweight World Champion Kevin Kelley (60-8-2, 39 KOs) has reinvented himself as a 41-year old junior lightweight and is still going strong.  Winner of six out of eight fights since his return to the ring in 2005, Kelley is proving that age in not a factor in his comeback and that he's got more than enough in the tank to teach the rest of the 130-pound weight class some new tricks as he fights his way back to a world title shot.

The pride of Oxnard, California, "Dangerous" David Rodela (10-1-3, 6 KOs) is primed and ready for his close-up against a former world champion in Kevin Kelley.  A 2004 amateur national champion, Rodela's only pro setback came in his fourth fight and since then he has dominated his opposition, beating well-regarded vets Jose Luis Soto-Karass and Julio Gamboa, as well as unbeaten Ramon Ayala along the way.  In his last bout, on August 2nd, Rodela traveled to the Philippines to halt Arnel Porras in three rounds.

Also in action on October 10th's stacked card will be some of boxing's brightest young stars, with unbeaten up and comers Jermell Charlo (4-0, 3 KOs) against Deon Nash (5-4-0, 1 KO) in a six round junior middleweight bout; Jermell's twin brother Jermall Charlo (1-0, 1 KO) faces Chico California's Mario Hernandez (1-0, 1 KO) in a four round welterweight bout.  A four round lightweight battle features Hylon Williams (4-0, 1 KO) against Scout Furney (3-5-1, 1 KO) of Waterford, Missouri; local Tucson native Roberto Yong (0-1-0) faces Dion Savage (2-0, 2 KO's) of Flint, Missouri in a super middleweight four rounder; and heavyweights Eric Woods (3-0, 2 KOs) of Tucson, Arizona and Oklahoma City native, Andre Fish will make his pro debut in a four round bout and local Thomas Herrera (1-0), battles Meza, Arizona's Dustin Day (0-1) in a junior lightweight four rounder.
