Erislandy Álvarez W10 Eduardo Costa do Nascimento... The first night of the KO to Drugs Festival, held as part of the WBA Fedelatin Convention at Casino Buenos Aires, provided a showcase for Cuba's Erislandy Álvarez. The 2024 Olympic gold medal winner claimed a dominant unanimous decision victory over Brazil’s Eduardo Costa do Nascimento (12-5) in the 140-ound category. Álvarez dictated the pace from the opening round, controlling the range and landing the cleaner shots en route to wide scorecards: 100-90 and 99-91 (twice). Alvarez is now 6-0 including IBA pro fights.

 

Lázaro Álvarez TKO4 José Muñoz... Another Cuban star, Lázaro Álvarez, added a highlight to the evening by stopping Venezuela’s José Muñoz in the fourth round of a lightweight bout. Muñoz hit the canvas twice before the referee waved it off, giving Álvarez a statement win. Alvarez won three Olympic bronze medals in a stories amateur career.
