Cruz arrives in States for battle with Sharmba Mitchell!

Just one week before “Cinco de Mayo” the festive Mexican holiday, world welterweight contender Jose Luis Cruz is planning on his own Mexican celebration two days earlier. The Mazatlan, SI, Mexico native (31-1-2, 26 KOs), whose only loss was a close decision to former two-time world champion “Sugar” Shane Mosley his last time out, came to Los Angeles this week to finalize his preparation for what Cruz is predicting to be a decisive and spectacular victory over another two-time former champion – Sharmba Mitchell.  The duo will fight in the desert at Cathedral City’s Big League Dreams next Wednesday, May 3, in a Goossen Tutor Promotion – in association with Ringway Promotions on ESPN2’s “Wednesday Night Fights” with the winner placing himself in position for a shot at a world title. “I’m came to town to knock him out.  My celebration will be to get the victory and uphold the great Mexican warrior tradition,” stated a confident Cruz. Tickets for the May 3rd show at Big League Dreams in Cathedral City, CA are priced at $45 for General Admission and are available by logging on to www.ticketweb.com.  Additional tickets, VIP Ringside Table Packages and Sponsorship Opportunities are also available by calling (760) 328-0787.  Doors open at 5 pm with the first bout scheduled for 5:30 pm (PST).
