Cruiserweight superfight set for March 8th

Press Release: Promoter Frank Warren confirmed today that the explosive all-British showdown between cruiserweight stars Enzo Maccarinelli and David Haye is on. Haye is the true cruiserweight champion, thanks to an upset of Jean Marc Mormeck, and Maccarinelli holds the WBO title. [Editor's note: for completists, Haye has the WBA super championship and WBC championship]. The two will clash on Saturday March 8th, 2008 at a venue to be announced. Setanta Sports 1 will televise the fight live-- not on a pay-per-view basis, but via subscription like HBO or Showtime. No announcement about American TV was included. Maccarinelli last fought on the Joe Calzaghe-Mikkel Kessler undercard in November, stopping Mohamed Azzaoui in the fourth round. Haye had to get up from the canvas to sensationally stop Mormeck in the seventh round and claim the world championship, also in November. Haye said, "This will be the modern day Benn-Eubank.
