Corrie Sanders returns with win

Ex-champ Ledwaba loses to unknown

Corrie Sanders TKO2 Colin Wilson... Nearly 41 years old, ex-WBO heavyweight titlist Corrie Sanders returned to the ring and stopped Australian import Colin Wilson in the second round in South Africa. It was Sanders' first fight since 2004, and he improved to 41-3. Both boxers fought aggressively in the first round, but Sanders' body punches were too strong for Wilson, who got dropped. The referee soon stopped the bout. Sanders, however, was not said to be in the best of shape. He held the WBO title from 2003 to 2004 after upsetting Wladimir Klitschko. source: supersport zone

Maxwell Awuku TKO9 Lehlohonolo Ledwaba... On the same card, a former world champion's career was effectively ended, at least at the world level, when little-known Maxwell Awuku of Ghana stopped South Africa’s Lehlohonolo Ledwaba to win a regional title at 130 pounds. Ledwaba once held the IBF 122-pound title and was actually considered the favorite when he lost that belt to Manny Pacquiao in 2001. Against Awuku, the 35-year old Ledwaba was knocked down in the first and thoroughly dominated until he quit on his stool after nine rounds. source: supersport zone
