Diego “Chico’’ Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo are signed, sealed and ready to deliver once again LIVE on SHOWTIME on Saturday, June 3 (9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast). The world’s most talented and courageous lightweights will collide in their eagerly awaited rubber match for Corrales’ WBC title at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 12-round world title bout will be co-promoted by Top Rank, Inc., and Gary Shaw Productions, LLC, in association with Caesars Palace and Wynn Las Vegas.

DIEGO CORRALES (40-3, 33 KOs)

“Castillo says this is like thunder and lightning, and he is the thunder. But thunder is noise. Lightning is action. Lightning destroys tress and houses. This June 3 is the last time you will see Castillo and I together. Castillo will not have to go far to see me. I will be right in front of him.
Â
“I am not making excuses for how our last fight ended, but I am still not convinced who the best lightweight in the world is. But I know for sure Castillo is going to make the weight this time, even if it means we sit around all day waiting for him.
Â
“I think the respite has done me good. I feel great, and am looking forward to another great fight. Who wouldn’t want to watch us go at it again -- whether it is in person, or on SHOWTIME?
Â
“I hate to lose – even if I am playing video games. The fans know I am going to give it 100 percent, and that Castillo will do the same.’’
Â
JOSE LUIS CASTILLO (54-7-1, 47 KOs)
Â
“It will not be easy, but I will definitely make the weight this time. Just knowing that this, finally, will be my last fight at 135 has given me motivation. Everyone I have fought has moved up in weight, except me. I am sticking strictly to a special diet and working very hard. I promised myself that I would make the weight.
Â
“Corrales’ people keep saying that I did not make the weight last time on purpose. But I was hurt, and lost 12 days of training due to the injury. If they thought I had such a big advantage, they had the choice of whether to fight me or not.
Â
“I would like to thank Corrales for being such a great fighter and for two great fights. We have made history together. If he comes to fight and not box – like the rumor I have heard – we will have another great fight.’’
