Chad Dawson gets hometown bout on April 1

22-year-old Chad Dawson (16-0, 1 NC) has an opportunity on April 1, 2005 to capture the hearts and minds of New Haven, Connecticut boxing fans when he headlines at the New Haven Athletic Center.  "Bad" Chad, rated #14 by Boxingtalk at middleweight will face upset-minded Efrain Garcia (17-4-1), of Texas, in the ten-round main event. Dawson is coming off a seventh-round stoppage of former world titlist Carl Daniels in seven rounds. Dawson’s head trainer, John “The Iceman” Scully, fought in the last pro show held (April 19, 2001) in New Haven. “Chad has unlimited potential,” Scully noted. “He’s ready to breakout.” Source: CES Press Release
