Colombian teenager Juan Narvaez looks to continue KO streak

Colombian super middleweight Juan Narvaez hosts Venezuela's Jose Espinoza (15-3 with 12 KOs) this Saturday in Barranquilla, Colombia. Narvaez, age 19, is a top Colombian boxing prospect with a record of 8-0 and 8 KOs. The Cartagena native made his debut last year and has already become the national champion with a win over Jhon Teheran last May.  Along the way he has knocked out very experienced fighters like Ricardo Torres and Darleys Perez. His opponent will be Espinoza, a 36-year old with experience in Switzerland and Argentina who will try to make the night difficult for the home fighter. From Los Teques, Espinoza comes from defeating Dervi Castillo in June and feels ready for a new international challenge.

On the same show, Undefeated Esteban Garzon will clash with Deimer Guerra in a lightweight bout. Garzon has 9 wins, 5 of them by knockout. Guerra has 8 wins, 3 losses and 7 knockouts. The event will be broadcast live on YouTube on the official channel of the WBA. Garzón, age 24, started his professional career in 2022. He has been growing steadily and now he finds himself with a great opportunity to make an important leap in the professional arena.  Guerra, age 23, is not at a high point, as he has lost two of his last three fights but he comes with great motivation to change the course of his career.

Another featured bout on Saturday's card will see John Lenon Gutierrez and Camilo Rodriguez square off in a lightweight contest. Gutierrez has a record of 9 wins, no losses and 6 knockouts, while Rodriguez has 8 wins, 1 loss and 6 knockouts. The bout will be part of the event promoted by Probox Colombia and will be broadcast live on the official WBA YouTube channel.

Gutierrez is a fighter with a good amateur career and has been adapting to professional boxing and is undefeated since his debut in  in 2021. The 30-year-old Antioquia native comes to the fight with a three-bout knockout streak. He will fight Rodriguez, 26 years old, who is from Bogota and has also won three fights in a row via knockout, all of them in 2024.
