Carlos Meza, a promising bantamweight from Colombia, was declared brain dead four days after being knocked out in a boxing match in Panama. Meza, just 26, entered the bout against Ricardo Cordoba with a reported record of 8-0. Cordoba was 22-0 but Meza had beaten some quality boxers in his eight wins. Meza, 26, never recovered consciousness. According to the Associated Press, Meza remains on life support. Our thoughts and prayer are with him.
