PRESS RELEASE: Unbeaten super flyweight Raul “Cobrita” Martinez of San Antonio, TX will headline a seven-bout boxing card at the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium. In the co-feature, “King” James De La Rosa battles Gabriel “El Rey” Martinez in a showdown of unbeaten young welterweight prospects. The show will be nationally televised via Telefutura “Solo Boxeo” broadcast.

The undercard will also showcase amateur standouts and Olympic trials participants bantamweight Roberto Marroquin (1-0, 1 KO) out of Dallas, TX who made a splash in his pro-debut by scoring a TKO in the 2nd round last Friday January 18th at the Brownsville Jacob Brown Auditorium and also featherweight Jerry Belmontes (1-0) out of Corpus Christi, TX who defeated Olvin Mejia (3-1-1, 3 KOs) in his professional debut.

Also on the card in a revenge rematch between former Texas junior welterweight champ Gilbert “Boogie” Vera (7-1-1, 4 KOs) out of Austin,TX and Brownsville’s own Gilbert “Ivy” Guevara (7-3-1, 2 KO’s). Vera KO’d Guevara in the second round and now Guevara wants revenge.
