WBC #2 rated, Joshua Clottey has an upcoming fight on October 21 against Detroit native Marlon Thomas at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York. With a win against Thomas, Clottey wil be one step closer to taking on bigger names in the welterweight division. Fighters such as Zab Judah (Whom Joshua almost got into an altercation with at Gleason's gym in Brooklyn before being held back by mutual friends), Shane Mosley and Antonio Margarito, who by the way just recently turned Joshua down for a title bout. Clottey stated, "I am working closely with my promoter, DiBella Entertainment and manager Jose Nunez in an attempt to get me a world class opponent for the undercard of Hopkins vs. Taylor. This fight will take place in December. Hopefully within the next few weeks someone will man up, step up to the plate and contact my promoter with an offer. I would call out Luis Collazo but I know his manager will never acceot the bout because of his fear that I will destroy his fighter."
