Citnron destroys Suarez

Kermit Cintron TKO5 Mark Suarez... In West Palm Beach Florida on Saturday, Kermit Cintron stopped Mark Suarez in the fifth round to win the vacant IBF welterweight title Saturday night. Although few will recognize the title as anything but a paper championship, an even fewer actually saw the fight, the win established Cintron as one of the top handful of 147 pounders in the world.  Cintron staggered Suarez in the fifth round, causing Suarez to kneel and take a knockdown. Suarez got up at eight but Cintron resumed the pounding and landed several hard, unanswered shots to Suarez's head until the referee stopped the bout. Cintron is now 27-1, with his one loss coming to WBO titlist Antonio Margarito. However, this week's bout between Carlos Baldomir and Floyd Mayweather will produce the genuine world welterweight champion. Suarez drops to 25-3. source: Associated Press
