Cintron stops Estrada, returns to contention!

Kermit Cintron is once again a top welterweight contender after stopping a determined David Estrada in the tenth round in West Palm Beach, Florida on Wednesday.  Cintron put Estrada down once in the tenth and then hurt him badly until referee James Warring stopped the bout. Until the tenth, it was a competitive bout. Estrada had a good third round that saw Cintron sustain a cut over one of his eyes. After a fast-paced and competitive first four rounds, it looked like Cintron's power would be too much for Estrada too handle, as the slugger took over in the fifth. Although the cocky Estrada kept motioning for Cintron to hit him some more, Cintron's heavy punches highlighted the middle rounds.  Estrada temporarily swung the momentum back his way in the seventh by getting inside Cintron's longer reach and landing some good lefts. Estada's advantage was short lived and he falls to 18-3. Cintron, now 26-1, will become the IBF #2 contender, although with the IBF ordering a title rematch for Zab Judah, that spot might not be worth much for a year or so. source: ESPN2
