Will fight for second time in less than two months
Manny Steward, the trainer/manager of IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron announced today that Cintron is scheduled to fight again on September 8, 2007 on the Fernando Vargas-Ricardo Mayorga undercard in Los Angeles. The likely opponent is Jesse Feliciano, who recently defeated prospect Delvin Rodriguez. "Kermit didn't fight for ten months, so now I want to keep him busy and sharp in preparation for a big fight next year," said Steward from Los Angeles, where he will work tonight's Bernard Hopkins-Winky Wright bout as an analyst. Cintron won the vacant IBF title in September of 2006 but didn't fight again until last week, when he demolished Walter Mathysse in less than two rounds. --Scott Shaffer  [Posted Saturday, July 21st @ 3:30 p.m.]
