Cintron-Suarez to clash for IBF title this fall!

Kermit “The Killer” Cintron and Mark “Poison” Suarez will face off for the IBF Welterweight Championship of the World this fall in a fight that looms large for the ever appealing welterweight division! The two fighters are set to square off for the IBF welterweight crown, which was recently vacated by Floyd “Pretty Boy” Mayweather, Jr.

These are the top two ranked IBF welterweight fighters, and both are hungry for a piece of the welterweight crown and its bragging rights. With fighters like Carlos Baldomir (WBC Champ), Antonio Margarito (WBO Champ), and Ricky Hatton (WBA Champ) holding the individual title belts as well as other fighters in this division like Oscar de la Hoya, Sugar Shane Mosely and Miguel Cotto, the welterweight division continues to be the most exciting division in boxing.

Kermit Cintron, with a record of 26-1 with 24 KO’s, plans to defeat Suarez en route to a unification of the welterweight division. Cintron told reporters, “I feel confident in my skills, and I have a new team around me helping to achieve my goals of becoming the undisputed welterweight champion of the world.” Earlier this year Cintron retained the services of savvy veteran Emanuel “Manny” Steward, to manage and train him for the title fight and beyond. “Kermit is an excellent boxer with good size and punching power. He will be a formidable opponent in the welterweight division,” says Steward. After defeating David Estrada in West Palm Beach, Florida on April 19th of this year, Cintron is back on track for his title shot. Cintron’s promoter, Bobby Bostick, believes Cintron vs. Suarez may take over the ‘Fight of the Year’ spot candidate that Cintron vs. Estrada is in line for now.

Bostick went on to state, “It’s always been Kermit’s dream to unify all four titles and be the welterweight king of the world. Kermit loves his Puerto Rican heritage and the people of Puerto Rico, and he can’t wait to prove to his country and America that he is the People’s champion. Kermit has a lot of heart as does Suarez. This is going to be a tremendous fight. They both are great fighters and they deserve this world title shot. FYI – do not blink your eyes. Don King and I were able to put our heads together and make this deal work and my company is excited to be promoting the Welterweight Championship of the World. Don was very professional and I look forward to working with him on unifying the Heavyweight Championship of the World.”
