Cintron-Martinez Is OFF!

Undefeated WBO interim welterweight champion Kermit "The Killer" Cintron has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled February 18 bout with Steve Martinez. Cintron had to undergo surgery to repair damaged tendons in his right hand. Antonio Margarito will still face Carlos Baldomir on ESPN that date, but no replacement bout for Cintron-Martinez is scheduled as of now. It is not yet known how this injury will affect the anticipated Margarito-Cintron PPV showdown. Cintron should be cleared to fight by the April 23 PPV date ESPN and Main Events are working with, though putting in with Margarito in his first fight following hand surgery might not be in Main Events best interest.
