Retains title vs. Tommy Browne

Chris John retained his WBA regular featherweight title with a ninth-round stoppage of Tommy Browne, an Australian challenger with slim credentials. John dominated Browne in a bout held in Penrith, Australia, and Browne's corner stopped the bout after the ninth round. Browne was cut around both eyes. John is one of two wolrd champions from Indonesia, but the WBA recognizes Juan Manuel Marquez as the super champion above John. source: Yahoo! boxing
