Cestus Management wants Torres-Arnaoutis rematch!

This past Saturday night Cestus Management’s 140-pound fighter “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis lost a highly controversial split decision to Ricardo Torres.  The fight, which was the co-main event of the Pacquaio-Morales card, was for the vacant WBO title.

In the eyes of most of the fans and ringside media in attendance, “Mighty” Mike won the contest as he controlled Torres with lighting quick counter shots and even scored a devastating knockdown in the seventh-round.  An overwhelming majority of people present were shocked when the official scorecards were read awarding a split decision victory to the Columbian.

Cestus Management’s chief advisor Mike Michael, said “ I looked at (Ricardo) Torres’ face when the verdict was read and know that he was as shocked as we were to learn that he had won the title.  I mean the guy gets handled and is brutally knocked down by Anraoutis in the seventh round yet still manages to win the fight.”  Michael continued, “The writing is on the wall for Torres as the vast majority of ringside media, and fans present had Mike winning the fight.  If Torres really wants to call himself a champion then he has to do the right thing and give us an immediate re-match.”

Star Boxing’s Joe DeGuardia, who promotes Arnaouits, said, “It was clearly inexperienced judging that cause that controversy.  The most experienced judge, Jerry Roth, had the fight scored properly, in favor of “Mighty” Mike which most press at ringside and fans in attendance agreed with.”  DeGuardia added, “We are very proud of “Mighty” Mike and his performance.  We are petitioning the WBO to order an immediate re-match.  It is the just thing to do because of the controversial nature of this decision.”
