Cestus Inks Donovan George

PRESS RELEASE: Cestus Management is proud to announce the signing of undefeated super middleweight Donovan George. Don "The Bomb," as he is known in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois, is 5-0-1 with 4 knockouts as a professional, as is only 20 years of age.  George turned professional in September of 2004 after compiling an amateur record of 18-4.  Despite his relative inexperience as an amateur, "The Bomb" was able to capture the Chicago Golden Gloves novice title in 2001 and the open title in 2003, both in the 165-pound weight class.

Says George, "I'm looking to go straight to the top.  There's no rush, we're going to fight as often as we can and just keep on winning, and my time will come.  I'm looking to put on competitive, exciting fights.  I put on a good show, I don't play around.  People are going to want to see me fight.

"Cestus Management put an offer on the table, and my father and I decided that these were the people to go with.  We're looking to go all the way, and Cestus and Mike Michael can help us do that."

Cestus Advisor Mike Michael also offered comment.

"We're very, very happy about signing Don 'The Bomb,'" said Michael.  "This kid is six foot, a hundred and sixty five pounds of fighting machine. He can hit, he can box, he knows how to fight and he's ready to work hard. Don is going to be the future of this sport. He's got the 'Bomb Squad' with him, his father, Peter, who's also his trainer, they're very good people and we're overjoyed that they decided to go with us.  With Cestus Management and myself behind him, nothing is going to stop Don 'The Bomb' George!"
