Castillo on cruise control vs. Reyes

Jose Luis Castillo won a glorified sparring session against Rolando Reyes on Satuday. Reyes, a substitute for injured world lightweight champion Diego Castillo, didn't disgrace himself but he wasted a precios opportunity to become either a top contender or a boxer that fans care to see again. He never went for broke and was content just to go the distance, much to the disappointment of the El Paso, Texas audience. The official scores were 116-111, 117-110 and 119-108, which included a point deduction against Castillo for low blows. Castillo said afterwards that he hopes to fight a tune-up in April before a rubber match against Corrales in June. Castilllo, arguably the only man ever to beat Floyd Mayweather (he lost a questionable decision in their 2002 meeting), now has a career mark of 54-7-1 and is rated #3 at 140 pounds by Boxingtalk due to his apparent inability to make the lightweight limit of 135 pounds. source: Showtime
