Castillo gets up to win split decision

Martin Castillo retained his WBA 115-pound championship by split decision, defeating Venezuelan Alexander Munoz for the second time in his career.   Castillo went down in round one when the hard-hitting Munoz jumped all over him with a barrage of punches.  But Castillo gathered himself in round two, and the action was back and forth through round nine.  Castilo rallied and the last three rounds he clearly won, giving him the edge on two of the judges scorecards.  Castillo hurt Munoz badly towards the end of the eleventh round and then landed several good shots in round twelve to seal the win.  The scores read 115-112 Munoz, overruled by 115-112 and 116-111 for Castillo, who is the #1 junior bantamweight in the world according to the Boxingtalk ratings.  With the win, Castillo improves to 30-1 16 KOs while Munoz (Boxingtalk #7) falls to 28-2 with a very impressive 26 KOs. source: PPV broadcast
