GL: You've been calling everybody out on Boxingtalk and we've finally got something to talk about. I spoke with Michael Katsidis, Juan Diaz and Julio Diaz recently. Katsidis says he's more interested in fighting the winner of Diaz-Diaz before he fights you and then after he captures those titles, he'll fight you. What are your thoughts on that? "First off that just proves our point. None of these chumps want to fight us. Michael Katsidis had his first fight and then has been running ever since. I told Mark Taffet from HBO and we told him we loved the Katsidis fight and so did he. The only person who doesn't love it is Katsidis, because he knows what time it is."
GL: Julio Diaz basically said you're not as important as you think you are and you're calling everybody out looking for a payday more than anything else.
Joel Casamayor: "I'm not that important? What is he getting paid? $100,000 to fight Juan Diaz in a unification fight? Obviosuly he's not the important one. He got blasted by Castillo and he shouldn't forget that he got blasted out by Juan Valenzuela in one round. The only reason he got his shot because Juan Diaz doesn't want to fight me either. Julio Diaz is a joke of a fighter. The only reason he got his belt because there's nothing but scrubs out there."
GL: Juan Diaz said he backs down from nobody but he's looking to hold onto his belts and he's got two mandatories due.
JC: "He wants to keep his belts, that's fine. If that's how he feels. If he doesn't want to fight the best lightweight in the world then he's not the man at lightweight. Title defense against anybody won't mean as much as fighting the best lightweight in the world. If these little guys don't want to fight we're ready to fight anybody in the world. Pound for pound these guys aren't better fighters than me."
GL: Do you think you have a better chance of making something happen with your WBC interim title as opposed to the Ring Magazine title?
JC: "I'm also the linear champion. The Ring Magazine only gives it title to one person in each division. Bernard Hopkins and Winky Wright just for the title, so what are they saying? I don't consider myself an interim champion, I consider myself the champion. I won my title in the ring and I haven't lost it. Regardless of what anybody tries to say everybody knows I'm the best lightweight in the world. On November 10, I'm going to dispose of Santa Cruz and then I want Golden Boy to come into the ring with my next contract so I can sign to fight some of these chumps. Whether it's Katsidis, whether it's Diaz, it doesn't matter.
"To be honest with you, I would love to make a fight with Manny Pacquiao more than anything else. But all he does is smile like a girl, he a p**sy too. He's scared to death of me like I said and if he continues to ignore me I'm going to change his name to Manny P**yout"
"And for Freddie Roach, you're in win-win situation. Manny beats me, you beat one of the greatest Cuban fighters of all time. Most likely I knock him out, but then you can come work on my team over here and Joe will let you carry his bucket around. Freddie Roach was a mediocre fighter back in the day and now he's washed up talking a lot of shit. If he has enough power to prove me wrong, tell him to make the fight and shut him up."
