Carlos Baldomir: "After I beat Judah, Mayweather's going to be fighting me on April 8!"

GL: Can you tell us how training camp for you big fight against undisputed welterweight champion Zab Judah has been going? "I am in great condition for this fight; I'm going to be ready for whatever he does. I've been training for this fight for the last four months and I'm ready to go."

GL: Can you give us your thoughts on Zab Judah as a fighter?

Carlos Baldomir: "I have a lot of respect for him as a fighter. He's left handed with a lot of speed, it's going to be my job to take that away from him and make it work for me."

GL: What weaknesses do you see in Zab Judah that lead you to believe you're going to be able to pull the upset on January 7?

Carlos Baldomir: "Like I said he's a great fighter and a great champion I know he's got a lot of strength, but I feel that he's most dangerous in the first three rounds. I've fought in two elimination bouts to get this opportunity and I'm going to become champion on January 7. I believe that the longer the fight goes the stronger I'm going to get. You know there have been a lot of postponements with this fight but on January 7 Zab Judah is going to get a big surprise."

GL: Zab Judah is already scheduled to face Floyd Mayweather Jr on April 8 if he defeats you. Do you look as Judah's next fight already being done as a sign of disrespect?

Carlos Baldomir: "There's a lot of talk about that but what happens when he loses? Floyd Mayweather wants to fight the best welterweight; he's going to have to fight me on April 8. I have the confidence of a champion coming into this fight and I'm not concerned with what his future plans are because I plan on becoming the undisputed champion on January 7! I look at his talking about Mayweather like all the talking he did before he fought Kostya Tszyu and we all saw what happened there"

GL: Do you see this fight going the distance?

Carlos Baldomir: "I don't make prediction other than a victory, but like I said the longer the fight goes the stronger I'm going to become. My right hand my be able to put him down, but clearly beating him on a decisions would be better for me because it would let the world know that it wasn't a lucky shot or anything else like that. I haven't lost a fight in six years and I don't plan on losing on January 7!"

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

Carlos Baldomir: "If this fight goes to decision I win the fight, he always starts fast, but after that I'm going to have too much heart for him."
