Troy Ross returns after appearing in movies
Press Release: Canada’s Troy Ross - a two-time Olympian, will return to the ring for the first time in over a year and a half. The return will come in London, England, on this weekend's Junior Witter-Arturo Morua undercard in Alexandra Palace. Troy had won 13 of his 14 pro contests and captured the Canadian cruiserweight title against Claudio Rasco via 8th round KO in May 2005, his last bout. After becoming Canadian champ, Troy took a break from boxing to appear in several boxing movies, including “Cinderella Man” in which he played John Henry Lewis. Lewis met James Braddock in Braddock’s penultimate fight before becoming world champion. More recently he has filmed ‘Resurrecting the Champ’ with Samuel L. Jackson. Ross returns to the ring proper in an eight-rounder against Hastings Rasani, 20-26-1, a Zimbabwean who now boxes out of Birmingham.
