Canada's new champ: Molitor claims IBF 122-lb crown

Steve Molitor KO5 Michael Hunter... Canada once again has a world champion as Steve Molitor journeyed to Hartlepool, England and knocked out European champion Michael Hunter in the fifth round Friday night to claim the vacant IBF super-bantamweight title.  The win ended a frustrating year of inactivity for Molitor, who previously travelled to South Afirca to fight for the vacant title only to have his opponent fail a medical test. This time, Molitor, 23-0, lost the early rounds but knocked Hunter down in the fourth round with a straight left. In the fifth, Molitor put Hunter down again with a series of lefts, and Hunter, now 26-1-1, took a ten count. source: slam! sports / associated press
