The International Boxing Hall of Fame announced today popular actor Mario Lopez has been named Grand Marshal of the 17th Annual Boxing Hall of Fame Parade of Champions scheduled for Sunday, June 11, 2006  at 1 p.m. “The Hall of Fame is extremely excited about welcoming Mario Lopez to Canastota,'” said Hall of Fame Executive Director Edward Brophy.  “He's been a boxing fan for many years and it will be a thrill to have him participate in the Weekend festivities with all of the legends of the game and the fans from around the world.”  From 1989 to 1993, Lopez endeared himself to millions of fans as A.C. Slater on the popular NBC sitcom Saved By The Bell.  He has also appeared on The Golden Girls, Kids Incorporated and USA Network’s syndicated drama Pacific Blue. He currently stars on the CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful as Dr. Christian Ramirez.    “I am extremely honored to be named the Parade Grand Marshal.
