1. Don doesn't need our consent to do Diaz vs. Diaz, nor do we have to agree to step aside. We will get pushed aside, plain and simple. The IBF rules permit Julio Diaz to apply for an extension to the mandatory deadline date for the purpose of a unification, and Julio will now be rewarded for sitting on his ass and not fighting. I'd like to see a rule change where if a perfectly healthy champion chooses not to fight for a period longer than 6 months or so, then strip him. Enough of this crap. Julio won the title on Feb. 2nd, and he will have sat on his ass for more than 9 months by the time he fights Juan. He's had PLENTY of time to fullfill his mandatory obligation. I personally made the effort to negotiate the fight back in April and May, only to be told "we're not interested". And nobody seems to have a problem with this. Champions should fight. They shouldn't sit around holding the title hostage waiting on a payday.

2. I'm confident that Don will look to put Nate in with the winner of Diaz vs. Diaz. It makes the most sense. Don did not need to do our promotional deal in order to facilitate Diaz vs. Diaz. He could have done it just fine without us. He obviously sees what Nate is capable of, and I trust he will make the right moves on Nate's behalf. That's why we went with Don in the first place. The only downside is that I believe Juan will win the Diaz vs. Diaz fight, thus taking Julio out of the picture. Nate wants to destroy Julio in the worst way, and I believe he will never get that opportunity now based on these circumstances. I'd also make a sizable wager that should Julio actually beat Juan, he will vacate the IBF title faster than Sycuan can type up the press release. That would make the third time he will have made a chump out of the IBF.

3. Enough with Casamayor already. He (or his people) DID turn down $750k to fight Juan, no matter what he says. He keeps babbling about how he wants a marquee fight, how everyone is ducking him, and blah, blah, blah. Well, Nate Campbell is right here. Come with a sensible number that isn't impossible, and I'm sure it could be worked out. Who knows, maybe Don could even make it the co-feature to Diaz vs. Diaz. Odds are there isn't enough money there to make it work, but it sure sounds good.
