Ex-world champion Chantelle Cameron (18-1) will face Elhem Mekhaled for the WBC interim junior welterweight title on Saturday at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England. Cameron (pictured), the former world champion in this weight class, turned professional seven years ago and her most recent fight was against Katie Taylor last November, when she lost her world titles via majority decision. Cameron had previously defeated Taylor in May of 2023. Mekhaled is a French boxer who debuted as a professional also seven years ago and her most recent fight was on May 31st against Eva Cantos, in which Mekhaled prevailed by decision. Both made weight this Friday. Cameron registered 139.5 poundss, while Mekhaled weighed 138.4. The fight is promoted by Queensberry Promotions and will be broadcast on TNT Sports.
